In the aftermath of the Second World War, a young couple of passionate teachers, Madeleine and André Rossignol, realize that the educational methods of the time put too many pupils aside and that they are anchored in an austere tradition that he must upset.
In their class, they develop and experiment with pedagogy in images. This is the Rossignol “method”. The concept: thanks to pedagogical tables, the lessons become alive. Students take pleasure in learning and better retain information, which has finally become concrete.
They apply this method to all disciplines, thus questioning the approach to history, geography, but also mathematics, grammar and spelling. For example, André Rossignol was against dictations.
Given the success rate of their innovative method, they decide to share it, in an artisanal and self-financed way. At that time, they did not yet know that their educational tool would be available 4 years later in all schools in France.
Les Éditions Rossignol have since closed their doors. But we couldn't let such a beautiful story die out, of which we are proud to be a kind of continuity.
